We’re
already at that time of year!...
We have started planning
the SYG Annual Residential for 2013 and need to know if you would like a
place.
We have selected a
fantastic site for the year’s residential – Cobnor Activities Centre in
West Sussex, which is located within Chichester Harbour; we recommend
you visit their website:

The
site provides indoor accommodation for everyone and can sleep 60 people.
The centre offers a brilliant range of activities, some of which are
activities we have never experienced before. Activities will include:
raft building, pico sailing, mountain biking on the South Downs Way &
sea kayaking. We also have use of a sports field so there will be
the usual range of sports activities available including football,
badminton and volleyball. There will also be a trip to a local beach.
The dates for this year’s residential will be Saturday 20th
July to Thursday 25th July 2013.

booklet will be issued at the parents briefing which is on Monday July 8th
at 7.30pm at the Marven Centre.
We
are aware that the Bellbird and Icknield School do not finish until
Tuesday July 23rd but we have been in contact with both head
teachers who have informed us that year 6 assemblies will be on Friday
July 19th and that attending this residential will be treated
as authorised absence for the two days.
The
all inclusive cost this year is £150 per person; as always, we do
not want any of our members to miss out on this opportunity due to cost;
so if you require any financial assistance please do not hesitate to
contact us. The actual true cost of this residential is £265 per head
but the group will undertake to obtain grant applications to cover the
difference.
A
considerable amount of work has already been done towards this
residential, but before going any further we need to know who would like
to attend. At this stage, we request a £50 deposit to secure a place
which is payable by Monday 4th February 2013. The
remainder will be required in two staged payments of £50 each; the first
installment is due by the 29h April 2013 and the last
installment by the 1st July 2013.
