Flanders & The Somme 2015 Band Tour
Between Wednesday the 28th and
Sunday the 1st of
November
2015, SYG Band organised a 1st World War Band Tour to Flanders and the Somme; BB, GB and
Amicus members, formed a Massed Band to perform at various locations in
Flanders and the Somme areas,
and to parade and perform at the Menin Gate in Ypres, and also a Church Parade
for a service at St Georges Memorial Church, Ypres. Members, and
leaders also had the opportunity to take visit Talbot House, the
Passchendale Museum, Tynecott Cemetery, and other locations. There was also
an opportunity for shopping in Ypres, or sports at a local school. The
Tour finished with all members stood on the beach at Dunkirk, and finishing
with Last Post at the Dunkirk Military Cemetery before getting the ferry
home.
