The DEA expeditions took
place over Easter 2008 (April 3 to April 6 2008) based at Darley Dale Methodist
Church
which is not far from Matlock in the Peak District.
There
were two groups:
1.
Group one were undertaking a Silver DEA test which was assessed by Paul Whitmell
and David Chaplin.
We are
pleased to announce that this group passed the test. Congratulations to everyone
taking part.
2.
Group two were undertaking a pre Bronze expedition to see if DEA was for them.
We are
pleased to note that everyone in this group expressed an interest in continuing
to a Bronze Trial at a
later date.
As part
of this expedition we all visited the 1st Matlock BB and we joined in their
Company Night activities
teaching the principles of DEA, how to use a trangia stove and lastly we all
played a tune on their band instruments
which had not been used for 20 years!!
This
expedition was organised by Craig Barnes our DEA co-coordinator who did a
wonderful job bringing
everything together.
