This is for those in Amicus only that wish to complete the
Bronze D of E Test Expedition.
We will meet on Saturday September 29th at
9am at Sawston Village College car park.
DEA Kit will be issued on Monday
September 24th 2012 at SYG.
You will need to arrange yourselves into groups of not less
than 4 and not more than 7.
You will need to plan a menu for your group and
buy lightweight food to carry and then cook Saturday evening and Sunday
morning breakfast.
You also need a D of E purpose for the expedition which you will
need to decide on before you start and gather information as you walk. You
will need to do a written or verbal report on this purpose after the
expedition and this forms part of the assessment.
Parents will need to provide transport to and from Sawston to
Brampton Railway Station (Saturday) NR34 8EF and collect from the
pier at Southwold IP18 6BN on the Sunday afternoon. Please arrange
this between you.
The cost is just
£15 each
payable on Saturday morning Sept 29th in cash or cheque payable
SYG. This covers camping fee and provision of meths and camping equipment.
Each group will need to buy OS Explorer Map No
231 Southwold & Bungay.
You will not be able to come unless you have first provided
SYG with a September 2012 consent form. We also need to know if there are
any new medical conditions since the consent form was completed.
This is a Bronze Award D of E Test weekend involving
walking with a rucksack, cooking your own food, pitching and camping in a
D of E lightweight tent. The camp site does have all amenities including flush
toilets, washing facilities & hot and cold water.
You will be assessed by an independent D of E assessor.
